DAVID REDVERS HAS HAD LIFELONG FASCINATION IN BLOODSTOCK AND HAS A PROVEN EYE FOR A HORSE
His love of bloodstock and excellent eye for a horse are partly inherited through his parents. His mother and grandmother were leading show judges and his father is one of the finest portrait painters in Britain.
Combined with the role of managing Tweenhills Farm & Stud, David Redvers acts as one of the country’s most active and successful bloodstock agents, always looking for value for money.
Many horses have gone on to give their owners a rapid return on their investment, winning on the racetrack and returning a profit at the sales. These include the international multiple Gr.1 winner Dunaden, and the Gr.1 winning two-year-old fillies Lightening Pearl and Rosdhu Queen.
In recent years David has acted as racing and bloodstock manager for Qatar Racing, Qatar Bloodstock and Pearl Bloodstock, which was formed for Sheikh Fahad Al Thani and his brothers from the Royal Family of Qatar.
In just a few years the operation has enjoyed significant success with Classic (pictured) winner Simple Verse and Group winners Elm Park, Just The Judge, Havana Gold, Dunaden, Side Glance, Peace And War, Lightening Pearl, Hot Streak, Secret Gesture, Kiyoshi, Green Door, Spirit Quartz, King Air, Frederick Engels, Dark Reckoning, Extortionist, Pearl Flute, My Catch, Cay Verde, etc.
In addition, David purchased the stallions Makfi, Charm Spirit, as well as Harbour Watch and Havana Gold (pictured below) whilst still in training, on behalf of Qatar Bloodstock. He has also enjoyed notable sales at public auction with youngstock and mares.
Prior to establishing David Redvers Bloodstock in 1995, David had spent several years gaining experience with Mark Johnston Racing, Russell Baldwin & Bright (now Brightwells) as well as at various studs worldwide and as assistant to Geoffrey Howson, Amanda Skiffington and Luca Cumani at Tattersalls and Keeneland Sales.
Initially basing his business around the National Hunt market David made an immediate impact when purchasing the legendary mare Lady Rebecca for 400gns as a yearling, who went on to win three consecutive Gr.1 Cleeve Hurdles.
As well as acting for Pearl Bloodstock, Qatar Racing and Qatar Bloodstock, David’s clients have included trainers Ralph Beckett, Mikel Delzangles, William Haggas, Jamie Osborne and John Hammond. Also syndicates Thurloe Thoroughbreds and Kennet Valley Thoroughbreds, along with owners Peter Deal, Clipper Logistics, Peter Winkworth, Mathieu Offenstadt, Richard Pegum and Nicholas Wrigley. In addition to National Hunt owners Clarendon Park Estate, Tony Taylor and Paul Murphy and trainers Venetia Williams, Tom George and Henry De Bromhead.
